Peaceful Heart was recorded in Deltaville, VA & Williamsburg, Brooklyn in the summer & fall of 2010. This was my first solo LP after The House Floor disbanded. I was using the moniker All Fox. There are a couple percussion contributions from THF homie Peter Chudzik, and some backing vocals from Angelica Bess (Body Language). Josh Henderson played violin. Dan Bindschedler played cello. Colleen Makary played oboe.

It’s hard for me to hear this one for a lot of personal reasons. Mostly because I recall having a false, or unearned, oblivious happiness & confidence during the writing/recording of this. I don’t think I had fully processed some life events in the years prior, & the positivity in some of the lyrics as well as the higher-pitched vocal/delivery creates an uncomfortable dissonance for me. But I do think there are a lot of interesting ideas here, and I’m still pleased with the flow of it as an album. And it is most definitely a significant piece to the puzzle of eventually finding my voice (literally & figuratively) with Lunifred Benjamin.

Also I know Archie will appreciate me publicly putting this back in the discography.
